Executive Consulting provided an excellent Interim Executive Director who helped pave the way for me to assume the Executive Director position. The Interim handled some sensitive issues and made significant progress in improving key areas, especially by creating improved teamwork with offices and staff that were spread out in multiple locations.
She helped increase the professionalism of some of our services, most notably in the drug rehab unit, where we increased the paid client numbers we served by about 30%. Executive Consulting provided valuable services to Newport Community Counseling Center during a critical period in our growth and development. The strategic plan developed by Executive Consulting has been instrumental in helping us identify ways to broaden our donor base as well as enhance our marketing efforts. During our board of directors retreat, facilitated by a team from Executive Consulting, our board worked to craft a clearer, more succinct mission statement and also identified some key areas for focus and development.

As a one-person development office, it can be difficult to find enough time to step back and take a look at how things are going, how they can be improved, what’s missing, what works, etc. In spite of my 20 years as a professional fundraiser, including many years as a consultant and strategic planner, I find it can be difficult to be objective. More importantly, it’s difficult to STOP long enough to take a look . . . especially when you’ve built the program and have been doing the same things for three years.
The Interim Director of Development supplied by Executive Consulting came in, asked the key questions, and made recommendations that were creative and constructive. She helped by evaluating processes that were already in place – made a few modifications to make it simpler, more “donor friendly” or more administratively efficient – and Voila! My life was made easier. I am re-energized about fundraising with well-planned strategies in place. These new and improved programs will undoubtedly result in hundreds of thousands more dollars for the Institute.
