Association Division

Executive Consulting and the California Society of Association Executives (CalSAE) have partnered to provide interim executive management and executive mentoring services to California’s association community. Together, we are offering two lines of service designed to assist associations that are facing times of transition.

Our Interim Solutions program specializes in the placement and on-going support of professionals trained to fill these vital positions on an interim basis:

• Interim Chief Executive Officer
• Interim Executive Director
• Interim Chief Financial Officer
• Interim Operations Officer

Our team of professional association and nonprofit executives represents the finest corps of skilled leaders from recognized and highly regarded associations and nonprofit organizations throughout the United States. Each professional has at least five years of experience running an association or nonprofit organization and/or managing a key department or program.

Our peer-to-peer Executive Mentoring program provides resources for association executives to:

• Improve professional performance by teaming a seasoned professional with an executive looking for insight and guidance. If you’ve been challenged by perceptions of poor performance or are looking to advance your career, this program can help with independent performance reviews, goal setting, mentoring sessions and follow-up review.
• Support new executive directors or senior staff by pairing a seasoned association or nonprofit professional with a new executive to establish realistic performance measurements, share best practices and conduct regular mentoring sessions to meet performance goals.

The Association Services Division is headed by Maurine Dyer Stevens, an association executive with more than 20 years of experience. Maurine is the former Executive Director of the California Optometric Association and former President and CEO of the California Rehabilitation Association. She is a past board chair of CSAE (the predecessor organization of CalSAE) and was recognized by that organization as "Association Executive of the Year" in 2001.
